Hello, my name is Spencer and I am a character animator. Here is a brief section about myself..

I was raised in Porthcawl, Bridgend, South Wales. Here I spent most of my time watching films, drawing and playing video games. I was particularly inspired by Disney, Jim Henson, Cosgrove Hall and Aardman productions.

Though there are many, my favourite movies now include True Romance, Heat and Drive. My favourite animated movies are The Jungle Book, Monsters Inc, Kung Fu Panda and Surfs Up. The games I spent most time playing were Road Avenger (MegaCD), Golden Eye (N64), Zelda (N64), Resident Evil (PS1) and Grand Theft Auto (PC).

Showing a natural flair and passion for drawing from an early age, I excelled at the art and design subjects whilst at primary school. Towards the end of secondary school I had a eureka moment when I stumbled upon an edition of 'Computer Arts' magazine, I immediately began to teach myself 3D.

At university I completed both a HND and BA honours in 3D Animation before moving to England to work in 3D.

Whilst animating as a 3D generalist in London and Manchester I mostly worked on TV and commercial projects.

For the last year and a half of my time in Manchester I was mentored by some of the top animators in the industry at the online animation school Animation Mentor. I hoped to become a better animator and leave all other areas of 3D behind to finally concentrate on my favourite, animation. I successfully managed to achieve both.

Now I live in Edinburgh, Scotland where I work as an Animator at Rockstar North developing video games.
